The PTFE tubing for the Seko PSH (Teflon) is manufactured from a specific thermoplastic elastomer that excels in mechanical strength. In the pump head, the tubing is constantly compressed by rollers; this material is specifically designed to withstand that repeated deformation thousands of times without tearing.

Unique PTFE Properties

In addition to chemical resistance, a PTFE tubing offers several unique physical advantages that distinguish it from a standard norprene tubing.

  • Optimal Hygiene and Purity: The surface of PTFE is extremely smooth and non-porous. As a result, liquid residues, bacteria, or crystals can hardly adhere to the wall. This peristaltic tubing is therefore very easy to clean and prevents cross-contamination between different dosing batches.
  • Wide Temperature Range: PTFE retains its structural integrity over a very wide temperature spectrum. Whereas a regular norprene tube softens in extreme heat or becomes brittle in the cold, PTFE remains stable. This makes the tubing suitable for processes where the fluid temperature fluctuates significantly.
  • Low Coefficient of Friction: Due to the very low coefficient of friction, the fluid experiences minimal resistance during flow. In a tubing for a peristaltic pump such as the Seko PSH, this results in less heat generation due to friction between the rollers and the tubing, which benefits the overall efficiency of the dosing system.

Chemical Resistance

As tubing for a peristaltic pump, PTFE offers maximum reliability for fluids that would dissolve other plastics within a short time. It is a specialized norprene chemical tube for the most challenging industrial environments.

This hose is suitable for pumping the following liquids, among others:

  • Aqua aqua (Nitrohydrochloric acid)
  • Concentrated nitric acid
  • Aggressive solvents (such as acetone or MEK)
  • Chlorinated hydrocarbons
  • Strong oxidizing agents
