SITA UV 403 system

The SITA UV 403 system is very suitable for disinfecting (drinking) water streams. The 403 version can disinfect up to 10 liters per minute (600 liters per hour, T=99%) with a safe dose of at least 300 J/m2 making the water bacteriologically pure after treatment. This is a complete system with adapter, radiation chamber, uv lamp and quartz tube. You can start using it right away.

These systems are often used in dental offices, in air treatment and on pleasure yachts.

The SITA UV systems are completely made of stainless steel and are characterized by high quality and long life.

What does the T-value mean?

This means the “Transmission Value” or clarity of the water. It is indicated in this case as 99% at 1 cm from the lamp. If the water is less clear, the UV dose will be lower.

For example, tap water is around 85-90%. Water from a water tank can be as low as 70%.

What can I do when I have a lower transmission value?

You could treat the water yourself with a carbon filter, for example. It is also possible to take a heavier UV system.

The lamp still works after 9000 hours. Should I change it?

Yes! The lamp will still emit blue light however, over time its frequency will become too low for proper disinfection.

Do I need to clean the quartz tube?

The quartz tube is the barrier between the water and the UV lamp. The cleaner it is, the better it allows the UV light to pass through.

We recommend cleaning this quartz tube when changing lamps. You can do this by soaking it in citric acid and then rubbing it with medicated alcohol.

Also inspect the condition of the O-ring and replace it if necessary.
