How long does a quartz tube last?
Sita recommends replacing the quartz tube with a new one after 5 years to ensure proper disinfection rates.
Do I need to clean the quartz tube?
The quartz tube is the barrier between the water and the UV lamp. The cleaner it is, the better it allows the UV light to pass through.
We recommend cleaning this quartz tube when changing lamps. You can do this by soaking it in citric acid and then rubbing it with medicated alcohol.
Also inspect the condition of the O-ring and replace it if necessary.
