SITA UV 405 System
This SITA UV system is often used to disinfect smaller drinking water streams. For example galley water on board. This Sita UV 405 system is equipped with a high quality 30 watt UV lamp, which achieves a dose of 300 J/m2 at a maximum of 20 liters/min (T=99, 1cm).
This system is available as a basic system, with LCD and with LCD plus control box. The SITA UV reactors are completely made of stainless steel and are characterized by a very high quality and a long lifespan.
This is the AL model. It consists of the lamp, reaction chamber, adapter and connections, and is without control panel.
SITA UV AL, LCD and LCD PLUS
These units are available in AL, LCD version or LCD plus version. The basic LCD unit has a hour counter, an alarm LED and two alarm relays for switching a valve or displaying the alarm externally. The LCD plus unit is also equipped with a UV detector and an optional 4-20mA contact. It will display a message when the lamp needs to be replaced. The UV detector measures the UV dose and can switch a solenoid valve if the dose becomes too low to keep your drinking water system safe and clean. These solenoid valves are available as separate units with us.

What does the T-value mean?
This means the "Transmission value" or clarity of the water. In this case this is indicated as 99% at 1 cm from the lamp. When the water is less clear the UV dose will be lower.
To give an example: tap water is about 85-90%. The water from a water tank can only be about 70%.
What can I do if I have a lower transmission value?
You could treat the water yourself with, for example, a carbon filter. It is also possible to take a more powerful UV system.
The lamp still works after 9000 hours. Do I have to change it?
Yes, the lamp will still emit blue light but over time its frequency will become too low for proper disinfection. Until the indicated lifespan the correct frequency will be achieved, after that there is no guarantee.
Do I need to clean the quartz tube?
The quartz tube is the barium between the water and the UV lamp. The cleaner it is, the better it lets the UV light through.
We recommend cleaning this quartz tube at the lamp change. This can be done by soaking it in citric acid and then rubbing it with medicinal alcohol.
Also check the condition of the O-ring and replace it if necessary.
How long does the quartz tube last?
SITA recommends replacing the quartz tube every 5 years for optimal disinfection.
